A New Voice For The Children
I am running for school board because without my candidacy there will be no election and I believe that our community needs to be engaged in a debate about the state of our schools and our children education.
I am a mother of 3 young children all attending the Redwood City public schools. Throughout the years my kids have attended a variety of schools within the district, making me aware of the large range of challenges each school has to face.
My priorities:
- Making schools safe by training teachers and administrators in positive behavior intervention techniques to prevent negative behaviors and increase learning time.
- Ensuring that all teachers are trained in diversified learning. In our classrooms we have a wide range of learning styles, and abilities: from students who struggles, to high achievers. I believe all students should be taught and challenged to reach their potential. We need to invest in programs and teacher training to bring diversified learning in classrooms across the district. We need to provide teachers with the support and tools to allow them to address children different learning styles and level.
- Expansion of programs like Roosevelt elementary school to 8th grade. Roosevelt has the facilities, and the expanded program will not create a financial burden to the district, rather, it will offer a new alternative for families looking at middle school for their children.
- Ensuring that all teachers and therapists are credentialed by California State boards.
- Bring greater accountability and transparency to the district operation.
My pledge:
If elected, I pledge to work hard on the behalf of all children of Redwood City and work with the rest of the board toward school safety, diversified instruction and making our schools safe. I will work to ensure Redwood City children receive a high-quality education that builds a strong foundation for their future.
I will respectfully hear and consider all opinions and input from the community. During these challenging economical times, I pledge to make responsible and thought-out decisions, always putting the best interest of our children first.
I will work hard to bring positive change to our schools, with fresh ideas, concrete solutions, enthusiasm, and integrity.
I am honored by your consideration. Please contact me directly if you have questions or are interested in meeting with me in person.
Thank you,
